1st Camping Trip of Summer

We went on our first camping trip of the summer over the weekend to South Higgins Lake State Park. All we can say is wow.....this is our new favorite campground. The bathrooms were close, the lots were nice and big and the beach was just a few steps away. Doesn't get much better than that. Although Addy has been camping since she was born, this was the first camping trip where she was old enough to actually understand what we were doing. She was very excited to ride in the motorhome. We met our friends, Tara, Kyle, Tyler and Ethan there. Addy had a great time playing with friends, swimming, going for wagon rides, playing at the playground and just being in an outdoor environment all weekend. I'm including some pics (I mean a lot of pics). And by the way this is only about half of the pictures I actually took. Can you tell how much fun we had?

Happy Daddy's Day

I couldn't let today go by without a posting about my husband. Not only is he an exceptional husband, but he is the best daddy that anyone could ever ask for. I knew before Addy was born that he was going to be a great dad and I eagerly awaited to see him in action. He's not just great, he's phenomenal! Thanks Aaron for all you do for our family. Happy Daddy's Day!

Around the House

Addy is done with her school therapy (Early Intervention) for the summer. We are sad to not be going there each week. At the last session, we spoke about crutches versus the walker. Addy has a goal written in her IEP that over the course of the next year, she will move to less support for walking. The next step would be arm crutches. They tried a pair with her to be sure they fit and the plan is to begin working with them when we return in the fall. Should be interesting.

I have 7 days of school left for myself (I know, we go very late this year) and then Addy will be out of daycare as well. I am trying to find things to keep us both busy. Addy and I will begin a 6 week therapeutic swim class starting next week and I also enrolled her in our Parks and Rec, Parent and Tot swim class. Then in August we will partake in a Mom and Tot play group. In between all of these we will be camping lots and paying visits to our local library for story time. Looking forward to all of it!

Rainforest Cafe

We decided to take Addy to the Rainforest Cafe for dinner on Friday night. I've been wanting to do it for a while as I knew that she would really enjoy eating with the animals. Well she certainly did. She spent the whole dinner pointing out animals around the restaurant. We sat under the stars and the moon and she continued to talk about it even after we left.
