Update

How about those Spartans!!!!! We are very excited. Addy has been saying "Go Spartans" all weekend long.

Just an update on some medical things. Addy is in the process of getting new braces. These will be AFO's which are much higher than her current SMO's. I'm not really looking forward to them. The doctor is hoping that they will help her stop crouching so much and allow her to not drag her feet as much when using the walker. I'm concerned because it will change her pattern when walking. She will now have to pick her feet entirely up as the braces will restrict her ankles from flexing. It also will change her transitions from floor to standing and standing to floor. She has become much more fluid with transitions lately and I don't want that to change. She should be getting the AFO's very soon. Will keep you posted.

Here are a couple of outside pics....riding cars with our neighbor Isabelle and playing in the sand table.

Birthday Party Weekend

Addy had 2 birthday parties to go to this weekend. This first party was for our friends Tyler and Ethan. Tyler turned 3 last week and Ethan is turning 1 this week. Addy has lots of fun, even enjoying her own cupcake as if it were her birthday.

We then attended a party for her cousin Reese who turned 6 last week. This party was at Jeepers which is a facility similar to Chuckie Cheese's. The facility itself was very open and spacious so Addy got to use her walker the entire time. She had a blast riding the rides and playing the games.

Great News!

Well, we have some awesome news to share. Addy has been accepted to be a part of the Littlest Heroes Project.

We have just been accepted so now our next step is to choose a first and second choice from their list of photographers. We are in the process of doing that and are excited to find out when the photo shoot will take place. Here is some information from their website:

The Littlest Heroes Project is a non-profit based organization founded in January 2008, made up of professional photographers nationwide that provide free photo sessions to our nations Littlest Heroes. This is our way of giving back and taking a stand for these children who sometimes feel forgotten because of their illnesses. We are here to let them know that they are heroes to many, and to share their inspirational stories and photos with the world.

If you have a child, or know a child, who suffers from any type of serious illness or life altering disability we are here to help. The Littlest Heroes Project provides you with a complimentary photo shoot for your hero and family. Please read the information on this site and be sure to contact us so we can help pair you up with a photographer from your area. The whole family ... Super Sibs and the Brave Parents are welcome to participate in the session as well!
