Doctors!!!

Well, I don't usually post my feelings about this, but I am getting completely fed up with doctors! It's like they have this egotistical aura about them that says, let me talk while you listen to what I have to say. Maybe I have some things to say too. Let's see, I'm the one who spends 50-100% of every day with my child. You are seeing this kid for 10-15 minutes and you think that you know everything. How rude! Maybe if you just listened sometimes, you might even learn something new. Boy, that's a concept.

I apologize for my rude words, I guess I just had a bad day. The nerve of a doctor to have no bedside manner and to reassure me that "I'm in this for the long haul and Addison's issues are not short term by any means." I mean what does he think, that I expect her to wake up tomorrow and start walking and running and jumping like a "normal" one and a half year old. No, I don't expect that and I know I'm in this for the long haul. I know my child has a disability and that in some form it will always exist Thanks for the pep talk and the nice pat on the back. Let me tell you, it was really reassuring and you really made my day. NOT!!!!!!

Oh and by the way, you might as well throw away the post about Addy being discharged from occupational therapy because I got my hand slapped for that one too by this same guy. She should have never been discharged and she will need OT and PT for years to come. Sorry, I thought that maybe I could just enjoy one positive thing for once. Guess it wasn't so positive after all. I'm done ranting now. I promise the next post will be better.

How frustrating! Doctors can seriously be so one track minded.
Like last week when my doctor kept insisting I had a bladder infection. I kept insisting it was something more. 3 hours later I end up in the ER with kidney stones. Sometimes they need to step down from their high horse and just listen. I can't imagine what you are going through with them. Keep up the fight though, you are the best voice for your daughter.
I am praying for Addison! She is a cutie.
